Dongling Temple

The temple locates in canyon between the second and third peak of Dongshan Ridge, built in the Song dynasty, formerly known as Jizhu Buddhist nunnery. After many rises and falls, it was rebuilt and renamed Jingtu Buddhist nunnery. In 1988, it was reconstructed and finally renamed as Dongling Temple. Within the temple, there are Avalokitesvara, Samantabhadra, Manjusri, Maitreya, Veda and other two gilding Buddha statues. In the front, a plaque says, "Rain stays regularly". The rain flows from crack. Ancestors used an iron tripod to store the water for monks and nuns daily life. It is known as water flow tripod. This is one of the eight views of Dongshan—"Cinnabar Water from Sea Hole".
